Afghanistan, Kabul, 25 August/ Trend , corr A. Hakimi/ The activities of first and second foreign ministers of Afghanistan Mahmoud Tarzi and Muhammad Velikhan Derzi during the term of Shah Amanullah khan Qazi, founder of diplomacy in this country (1928-1929) were discussed in the international seminar in Kabul.
The seminar was held on 24 to 25 August in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
The correspondent of Trend in Afghanistan reported that in his statement concerning the seminar, President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai described both ministers as great political and public figures. They struggled for the freedom of their country and laid foundation of new diplomacy in Afghanistan, statement said.
Karzai portrayed both diplomats as brother-in-arms of Shah Amanullah Khan who ruled for the well-being of his country. The economic and public reforms, development of press and enlightenment are result of their hard work, President said.
Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Rangin Dadfar Spanta described Tarzi as a great scholar and Darvazi as a reformer, patriot and most competent diplomat under Amanullah khan.
Representatives and ambassadors in Afghanistan from foreign states also took part in the international seminar.
