Georgia to Integrate Closely to European Economy: Premier

Georgia, Tbilisi, 12 September / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / "As much time passes, as much humanitarian aid is rendered to Georgia from the friendly countries," Valdimir Gurgenidze, the Georgian Premier stated at a meeting of the government.

"Firstly, the United States allocated several tranches, which they promised. For instance, it has been offered to add $100mln on Millennium program."

According to the Premier, similar negotiations are being held with the European counterparts. Gurgenidze said that they discussed a plan to convene a conference of donors at Brussels on 10 September. Moreover, discussions on agreement on free trade with Europe have begun.

"This process will take definite time and after its completion, Georgian will closely integrate into the European economy," Gurgenidze said.

According to the Premier, they launched discussions with the United States. The US delegation will visit Georgia on 1 October to view issue on free trade.
