Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 3 / Trend , B.Hasanov/

Azerbaijani member of parliament Lala Abbasova refused membership in a working group on Azerbaijani-Israeli interparliamentary relations to protest Tel Aviv's official policy toward Palestinians.

"This step is a protest against the Israeli government's policy. I respect the Jewish nation, but I cannot accept the Israeli government's annihilating civilians. No one has the right to deprive children of the right to life," Abbasova told Trend on Feb. 3.

The Israeli military operations against Hamas killed roughly 1,300 people and injured 5,500 in the Gaza Strip, BBC reported. The Israeli military said they lost 13 soldiers.

Abbasova said she will appeal to parliament to leave the working group.

Member of parliament Yevda Abramov, an ethnic Jew, heads the working group.

The commission comprises Bakhtiyar Aliyev, Vagif Samadoglu, Safar Mammadov and Tahir Suleymanov.
