Azerbaijan, Baku, May 14 / Trend , A.Huseyinbala/

An Azerbaijani party is standing for opposition's refusal from obligations taken before the Council of Europe on peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

"I do not believe that parties will take this step. Some of them are financed by foreign countries, so they can not renounce their signatures," Chairman of the People Front of United Azerbaijan Party (PFUAP) told a Karabakh Forum, organized by opposition parties and NGOs.

While entering the Council of Europe in 2001, Azerbaijan assumed obligations on the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through peace means. The paper was signed by the Azerbaijani Government and heads of opposition parties - People front Party of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani National Independent Party, Musavat, Democratic Party and Liberal Party.

According to Hasanguliyev, if the world community will not to put pressure on Armenia, then the problem cannot be resolved in accordance with Azerbaijan's interests.

"Therefore, we must accelerate the forming of professional army. I believe that the liberation of our lands through military way, allegedly, will be required," Hasanguliyev added.

We need to design a single program, reflecting the position of Azerbaijan's opposition and authorities related to settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Chairman of the Classic People Front Party of Azerbaijan Mirmahmud Miralioglu said.

A special institute is needed to create to manage the problem.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.
