The forces of Azerbaijan State Border Service (SBS) have entered the final stage of special tactical exercises.

The event that began on Sept. 22 and will end on Sept. 25 is attended by 2,000-troop SBS. The exercises used helicopters, ships, boats and facilities for scuba diving, artillery, heavy caliber weapons, combat and armored vehicles.

The exercises aim to improve the experience of personnel services to protect the interests of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea, to check the combat readiness of military forces, and to reveal and neutralize terrorist-subversive groups.

The exercise is called "Service and combat actions in the event of threats to the coast, islands, oil and gas pipelines and oil platforms during protecting state border by the SBS units in the Caspian Sea."

On the third day of the exercise, Head of the SBS, Elchin Guliyev and Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan on military issues Vahid Aliyev inspected the armor on the basis of the Coast Guard station, located in the Turkan settlement.

The exercises began with the presentation of conditions in the center of command control, supervising over the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea, machinery, equipment and facilities.

Tactical exercises, which aim to test the level of training of border guards for the protection of coastal areas and the state border, through which the export pipeline passes, as well as for rescue operations, are taking place in four stages.
