Oak Trees in Occupied  Azerbaijani  Territories Cut Down and Sold to   France

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 May /corr. Trend E.Huseynli/ Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources stated that the forests in Azerbaijan's district of Lachin occupied by Armenia are cut down and sent to the foreign countries for production. "Red oaks in Lachin forests of Pidjanis and Hajishamli are cut down and sent to France for production of casks being used to prepare cognac. The hazel trees are cut down and sent to Iran in a massive scale," Active Press Secretary of the Ministry, Irada Ibrahimova, reported to Trend .

Azerbaijan's district of Lachin was occupied by Armenian armed forces on 18 May 1992.

The Ministry revealed these facts via Operative Center determining destroying impacts on environment and natural resources in occupied Azerbaijani territories.

Ibrahimova said that 65 ha of forest in Lachin's forests of Hajilar and Sadinlar was fully destroyed.
