Percentage people with vocational education employed in Azerbaijan is high

"The attitude of society towards vocational education has changed. There are vocational schools, where there are five applicants for one place. The percentage of persons employed in the country who have vocational education is high; they are generally employed in the regions," the Minister of Education, Misir Mardanov, told journalists on Sept. 9.

In Azerbaijan, the percentage of people who have received vocational education and are employed is higher than people with higher education.

"The attitude of society towards vocational education has changed. There are vocational schools, where there are five applicants for one place. The percentage of persons employed in the country who have vocational education is high; they are generally employed in the regions," the Minister of Education, Misir Mardanov, told journalists on Sept. 9.

The minister said that they have set rules for student admission in some vocational schools. "The rules adopted are provided only for trade schools and are mostly applied for admissions. The President instructed the Ministry of Education to use Germany's experience in developing vocational education. For the first time, new textbooks have been issued for vocational schools," Mardanov said.
