BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. Azerbaijan imported a total of 12.39 tons of clay (bentonite, refractory clay) worth $2.5 million from January through October 2022, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, this figure is 1 percent less in value terms and 31 percent less in volume compared to the same period of the previous year.
A total of 8,820 tons of clay worth $1.4 million were imported from Russia; 2.02 tons worth $579,000 from Turkiye; 1,030 tons worth $234,000 from Georgia; 61.5 tons worth $103,000 from Brazil; and 207 tons worth $34,000 from Poland.
During the accounting period, clay supplies from Greece and the UK were resumed after a break. A total of 5.5 tons worth $900 and 45.1 tons worth $21,000 were imported from these countries, respectively.
