WB, CBA discuss future plans

Elman Rustamov, chairman of the Azerbaijani Central Bank (CBA) and Asad Alam, regional director of the World Bank (WB) for the South Caucasus discussed the prospects of future cooperation, the CBA said.

A joint program of economic research, the theme and format for conducting the second Economic Forum at a high level, as well as the plan for the Days of Azerbaijan in the WB office in Washington were also discussed.

Alam expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Azerbaijan. He also praised the activity of the financial and banking sector.

Rustamov said that a joint program of economic research plays an important role in strengthening the potential of the research and development center, operating under the CBA.

Azerbaijan is a member of the World Bank since 1992. During the period of cooperation the bank has approved funding for Azerbaijan to the amount of $3 billion.
