Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb.12

By Nigar Guliyeva - Trend:

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan since March 2018 will launch a passenger train on the route "Tashkent-Rybachye (Balykchy)-Tashkent", Kyrgyz Railways reported.

The passenger train No. 455/456 of Uzbek Railways will run once a week. It consists of 7 sleeping cars, three reserved cars and a restaurant car.

The train will depart from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) on March 22, 2018 and arrive in Rybachye (Balykchy) on March 23. The return train will leave Balykchy on March 24 and arrive in Tashkent on March 25.

The train will depart from Tashkent on Thursdays and arrive in Balykchy on Fridays. The return train will depart on Saturdays and arrive in the capital of Uzbekistan on Sundays.

After the April 2010 revolution in Kyrgyzstan, trains from Tashkent stopped traveling to Issyk-Kul.

In summer 2015-2016, the authorities of both countries agreed on the resumption of a rail line. However, in 2017 the train stopped traveling again, because the governments of the two countries did not reach the necessary agreements.

Earlier it was reported that Kyrgyzstan will transfer to Uzbekistan for temporary use land plots in the Issyk-Kul region. The decision concerns boarding houses "Bosteri", "Altyn-Zhai", "Enesay" and "Buston".
