By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan has a great potential for developing agricultural machine building, said Roman Sklyar, the Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development, Trend reports with reference to the ministry.

“There are a number of factors that restrict the development of agricultural machine building. Currently, local plants are loaded for 20-25 percent. This is due to the fact that local farmers buy imported equipment,” he said.

“Measures of state support, subsidies on equipment purchase are applied to both locally manufactured and imported equipment. This is unacceptable. Our budget should not benefit foreign manufacturers,” said Sklyar.

“We plan to develop existing potential in accordance with international experience. One of the ways to stimulate local manufacturing is introduction of a recycling tax. The recycling tax will stimulate major entities to launch assembling manufacturing with further localization in Kazakhstan,” the minister added.

Last year, the manufacturing value of agricultural machine building amounted to 27.3 billion tenge. In January-March 2019, the manufacturing value equaled to 3.9 billion tenge.

Recycling tax is the payment for product’s recycling. It can be included in the cost of the product or charged separately when selling or recycling the product.
