Uzbekistan is considering the possibility of importing meat from Mongolia, in accordance with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to expand economic cooperation with Mongolia”, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
The draft document was prepared by the State Veterinary Committee of Uzbekistan and on July 24 was submitted for discussion on the portal of draft legal documents.
Transportation of imported meat will be handled by the national airline Uzbekistan Airways, which is entrusted with submitting reasonable freight rates.
Part of the imported meat will be placed at the disposal of the State Reserve Management Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers. In addition, the needs of state-financed organizations, social facilities and others will be met thanks to the Mongolian meat.
Meat and meat products imported from Mongolia may be charged a maximum of 10 percent of the purchase price. The estimated volume of imports is not yet known.
Uzbek-Mongolian cooperation was intensified in 2018. In addition, in April 2019, a delegation of large companies from Mongolia visited Uzbekistan.
Following the meetings and negotiations, the parties reached agreements on the supply of Uzbek cars, fresh fruits and dried fruits to Mongolia. In particular, the Mongolian company Nomine Holding signed an export contract worth $ 10 million with Uzagroexport.
