Export from Russia’s Voronezh to Azerbaijan may increase in coming years

The export of goods from Russia’s Voronezh city to Azerbaijan may increase by several times in the coming years, Trade Representative of Russia in Azerbaijan Ruslan Mirsayapov said at the Export 2020-2021 Conference, Trend reports.

In his speech at the round table meeting "Effective Promotion to the Markets of Foreign Countries" Mirsayapov described the Azerbaijani market, outlined promising niches for Voronezh exporters, the peculiarities of doing business in Azerbaijan and the main barriers during supply of products to Azerbaijan.

"As of 2019, Azerbaijan entered the top six countries that bought the products manufactured in the Voronezh region,” the trade representative said. “Export from the region to Azerbaijan increased by 62.3 percent compared to 2018 and amounted to $46.7 million."

Mirsayapov said that in 2020, despite all the difficulties and restrictions, the volumes of export from Voronezh to Azerbaijan remained at the level of last year - although in general, this year, export from Voronezh decreased by 20 percent while import of Azerbaijan decreased by 25 percent.

Mirsayapov delivered speech at the Export 2020-2021 Conference on December 23.

The representatives of over 50 small and medium-sized enterprises in the region, existing and potential exporters attended the event, organized by the Department of Entrepreneurship and Trade of the Voronezh Region, together with the Regional Export Support Center.
