Azerbaijan, Turkey to seek applying Industry 4.0 technologies in bilateral trade

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 25

By Zeyni Jafarov - Trend:

Azerbaijan and Turkey agreed to explore the possibilities of introducing technologies of the IV industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) in order to simplify and digitalize processes in bilateral trade, Trend reports on Aug.25 citing ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Digital Trade between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey’.

According to the document, in order to simplify and digitalize the processes in trade between the two countries, studies will be conducted on the implementation of block-chains, cloud technologies and artificial intelligence in this process.

Besides, the memorandum envisages simplification of customs and border regulation between the countries, including the possibility of introducing artificial intelligence solutions in the process of customs control and security.

Moreover, Azerbaijan and Turkey are expected to study the possibility of creating a single national window system, e-commerce standards, payment of customs duties using digital platforms, conducting trade in goods and services through digital platforms and exploring the possibilities of creating platforms for promoting exports and joint trade.

It’s also planned to use the development of digital commerce to minimize the low standard of living in rural areas.

As earlier reported, the memorandum has been approved by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The document was signed on April 2, 2021 in Baku.
