The volume of gas exports in Kazakhstan in January-August 2011 amounted to 8.447 billion cubic meters compared to 7.751 billion cubic meters during the same period of 2010, a source at the national dispatching department of the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan told Trend.
In August 2011, gas exports in the country amounted to 1.147 billion cubic meters compared to 1.199 billion cubic meters in August last year. Thus, in August 2011, exports of gas in the country amounted to 33.8 percent under production of 3.365 billion cubic meters.
In August 2011, gas consumption in the country amounted to 443.9 million cubic meters, or 4.8 percent less than the last month and 8.5 percent more compared to June 2010.
Imports of gas in the country in January-August 2011 amounted to 3.459 billion cubic meters compared to 3.034 billion during the same period of 2010. In August 2011, imports of natural gas in the country amounted to 216.1 million cubic meters, which is 14.2 percent more than last month and 11.9 percent more than May 2010.
