TANAP’s gas supplies to Turkey exceeds 8 bcm

The volume of gas supply from the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) to Turkey has reached 8.2 billion cubic meters since July 2018, said Azerbaijan’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov, Trend reports.

He made the remarks during the ceremony of signing a memorandum of understanding on a new energy project, the Nakhchivan-Igdir gas pipeline between Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Shahbazov pointed out that to date, around 424 million tons of Azerbaijani oil has been transported to Turkey and world markets via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, while the volume of gas supplies to Turkey exceeded 76 billion cubic meters.

The minister went on to add that to Turkey has to date invested $14 billion in Azerbaijan’s economy, while the amount of investments from Azerbaijan to Turkey is more than $18 billion.

TANAP, the longest section of the Southern Gas Corridor, will reach its full capacity of 16 billion cubic meters per year in 2022.
