GECF marks rise in global LNG exports

The world’s liquified natural gas (LNG) exports rose from 482.57 billion cubic meters in 2019 to 484.45 billion cubic meters in 2020, showing a 0.39 percent increase year-on-year, Trend reports with reference to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

The dynamics of world’s LNG exports is as follows: 331.15 billion cubic meters in 2011, 323.85 billion cubic meters in 2012, 325.18 billion cubic meters in 2013, 326.61 billion cubic meters in 2014, 330.18 billion cubic meters in 2015, 352.80 billion cubic meters in 2016, 397.83 billion cubic meters in 2017 and 406.49 billion cubic meters in 2018.

The share of GECF countries in the total volume of global LNG exports rose from 54 percent in 2019 to 58 percent in 2020. GECF LNG exports stood at 279.69 billion cubic meters in 2020, as compared to 260.85 billion cubic meters in 2019.

The world’s natural gas exports dropped from 820.11 billion cubic meters in 2019 to 765.99 billion cubic meters in 2020, showing a 6.59 percent decrease year-on-year.

The dynamics of world’s natural gas exports is as follows: 653.40 billion cubic meters in 2011, 693.58 billion cubic meters in 2012, 715.69 billion cubic meters in 2013, 683.68 billion cubic meters in 2014, 711.70 billion cubic meters in 2015, 755.16 billion cubic meters in 2016, 811.36 billion cubic meters in 2017 and 816.34 billion cubic meters in 2018.
