BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. The volume of issued loans in the capital and districts of Azerbaijan increased by 2.8 billion manat ($1.6 billion) or 17.21 percent as of January 31, 2023, from 16.7 billion manat ($9.8 billion) to 19.6 billion manat ($11.5 billion) compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, loans worth 15.06 billion manat ($8.86 billion) were issued in Baku, which is 3.27 times higher than in the districts.
In the capital, loans in national currency totaled 11.2 billion manat ($6.5 billion), or 74.8 percent of the total volume of loans in Baku.
The average annual interest rate on the country’s loans totaled 12.35 percent, and on Baku's loans - 10.73 percent.
