BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11
By Nargiz Ismayilova – Trend:
Azerbaijan’s Azerpost LLC postal service is going to offer new services, most notably related to integrated online payments, a source in the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies told Trend.
The ministry noted that the relevant work is being carried out in this direction.
“It is envisaged that this service will fully be available until the end of 2020," said the source.
Since the beginning of the year, Azerpost LLC has been proposing cooperation to companies operating online, in particular cooperation with local trading portals such as Kontakthome, Karcher, Veyseloglu has already been established.
During the special quarantine regime imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), Azerpost LLC provides support to a number of social projects implemented by the state. The process of issuing lump sum payments (190 manat or $111.7) to unemployed and informally working low-income citizens who lost their jobs over the special quarantine regime has also been successfully completed at the post offices.
Azerpost LLC made payments to over 590,000 citizens under the project.
To ensure the use of financial services by citizens under the special quarantine regime, outgoing postal services were organized in Baku’s villages without leaving their place of residence.
Azerpost LLC, being the only one national postal operator of Azerbaijan, currently serves citizens during the week, including Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
The company has a call center hotline at #169, with requests and issues being handled 24 hours a day.
