Cargo movements in Iran’s Chabahar port decline

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) decreased by 16 percent in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021), compared to the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 292,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the fourth month. Of this, 27,000 tons were loaded and 265,000 tons were unloaded.

Also, 25,000 tons of cargo were exported and 129,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

Furthermore, 246 tons of cargo were loaded and 802 tons were unloaded in the port for transit in the 4th month.

According to the statistics, 133,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the fourth month.

At the same time, 1,680 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,260 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.

So, about 124,000 tons of essential products, 25,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,210 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 4th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 44 tons of chemicals, 744 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 322 tons of small and assorted products, 5,980 tons of container products and 133,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fourth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.99 million tons were loaded and 5.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 20.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
