Turkmen company to open logistics offices abroad

OJSC Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM) will open representative offices abroad to increase cargo traffic and coordinate cooperation with foreign partners.

The corresponding proposal was approved by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 24, Trend reports via Orient news.

Speaking at the meeting, the General Director of the Transport and Communications Agency, Mametkhan Chakyev, said that this initiative was developed based on the experience of the world's largest logistics companies, which contributes to an increase in freight traffic in international transport, coordination of cooperation abroad and market research.

The CEO said that the creation of TULM significantly increased the volume of international freight and postal traffic on all modes of transport.

It has not yet been announced which countries would be the first to receive TULM representative offices.

TULM was founded in July 2018. The company's main task is to effectively use the possibilities of international transport corridors passing through Turkmenistan, as well as to contribute to an increase in transit cargo volume and the development of logistics solutions for the implementation of transit and export-import cargo transportation.

The center offers a wide range of transport and logistics services to local and international partners, planning and accompanying transit by air, rail, road, and sea.

Recently, TULM facilitated the implementation of a project for express trains of containerized cargo from Turkey to Uzbekistan through Turkmenistan.
