Kazakhstan sees annual increase in trade with Russia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 31

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia amounted to $10.7 billion from January through June 2021, which is 26.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.

At the same period, most of the trade turnover - 69.6 percent, or $7.5 billion, plus 19.2 percent per year - is taken by imports from Russia to Kazakhstan.

In the total trade turnover of Kazakhstan, exports from the country accounted for 30.4 percent, or $3.3 billion, having risen by 48 percent on annual basis.

Russia’s share in the structure of the total trade turnover of Kazakhstan was 23.7 percent, in the structure of imports - 40.8 percent, in the structure of exports - 12.1 percent.

A variety of goods are imported from Russia to Kazakhstan. So, for example, for the first 6 months of this year, Kazakhstan imported 375.1 million liters of mineral water, 402,500 tons of Portland cement, 287,600 tons of coal, 3,600 tons of medicines, 299,300 square meters of particle boards, 3.4 million sq. m of linoleum, 243.9 million bricks, 509,400 shells, etc.

Moreover, Kazakhstan exported 39,000 tons of wheat to Russia, 11,500 tons of rice 128,200 tons of Portland cement, 4.6 million tons of iron ore, 41,000 tons of natural gas condensate, 27,300 tons of fertilizers, 12,400 sq.m. of ceramic plates, 26,800 tons of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
