Turkmenistan plans to create a department for cybersecurity certification in the central office of the Turkmenstandartlary Major State Service of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
The department is being created to establish work on certification of technical equipment produced in Turkmenistan and imported from abroad.
Turkmenstandartlary checks and certifies technical means and software in the country.
The development of national standards and methods in the field of information security is among the priorities of Turkmenistan.
As earlier International Organization for Standardization (ISO) told Trend, Turkmenstandartlary Major State Service has the status of a correspondent member with (ISO) which means that it adheres to the development of ISO standards and strategy by attending ISO technical and policy meetings as an observer.
The Major State Inspection of Turkmenistan (SIT) was established on January 7 1993, to control the quality of manufactured products.
