BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. In the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, the activity in planting pistachio trees has increased, Trend reports citing Turkmenportal.

The reason for this was that last October a seminar was held for the population on the characteristics and varieties of pistachio trees, and their effective and sustainable cultivation in the climatic conditions of the area.

Especially distinguished were some farms that planted 1,500 seedlings in total.

There has been no such activity for about 15 years.

Furthermore, based on the positive experience of the countries of the region, the issue of creating a Turkmen association of producers of nut crops is being considered, which could unite entrepreneurs, promote productivity, and develop export directions.

The purpose of the training event was to increase knowledge about rural business and ways of its development.
