Turkey’s exports increased by 18.1 percent and reached $11.278 billion in January 2017 as compared to $9.547 billion in January 2016, according to a report of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, Turkey imported goods worth $15.586 billion in January 2017, that is, 15.9 percent more than in January 2016, when the country’s import was $13.453 billion.
Germany ranked the first for volume of Turkish export. The country imported Turkish goods worth $1.122 billion in January 2017. Germany is followed by Iraq and the United Kingdom, which account for $684 million and $676 million, respectively.
In January 2017, the highest growth rate of Turkish export was observed in trade with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Russia – 129.3 percent and 59.1 percent, respectively.
China, which supplied goods worth $1.851 billion to Turkey in January 2017, took the leading position in Turkey’s imports.
Turkey also imported goods worth $1.187 billion and $0.734 billion, respectively, from Russia and Germany in January 2017.
