BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. The European Commission promises to prepare as soon as possible an official opinion on Ukraine's readiness to obtain the status of a candidate for EU membership, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi said, Trend reports citing UNIAN.
"The EU continues to stand by Ukraine and its people, delivering assistance. And we started working on delivering an opinion on the basis of the application for membership for Ukraine. We will work as fast as we can," Varhelyi said.
