More than 130 people listed as missing after a devastating tsunami on Indonesia's Mentawai islands have been rescued, an official said Saturday, reported DPA.
The 135 survivors were found in different places in Pagai Utara district, the official at the regional disaster management agency said in Padang, the capital of West Sumatra.
"There were found among displaced people and in hospitals. After cross-checking, they were found to be people listed as missing," said Surya, who like many Indonesians goes by one name.
The number of missing people has been revised down to 163, while the death toll remained at 413, he said.
Separately, 10 people were rescued and five were missing after a boat carrying 15 aid workers capsized off the Mentawais, Surya said.
The workers were carrying lighting equipment, the official said. Some parts of the island chain have no electricity.
