Process of preparation for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Azerbaijan 2012 fully suits FIFA, President of FIFA Joseph Blatter told official website of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbajan (AFFA).

Work which is being carried out in Azerbaijan in sport including development of football created favourable conditions for the holding of World Cup, he said.

"Social and cultural projects, presented by AFFA in connection with the holding of the U-17 Women's World Cup, make us glad. Invitation by AFFA to Azerbaijan of parents of all participating in the Cup footballers as well as men and women teams from different age groups will make this Cup a special one and will contribute to more interesting holding of the tournament," Mr Blatter said.

Holding of the U-17 Women's World Cup in this region will become impulse for development of the women's football in the world, he said.

"Addressing fans I want to say: support development of women's football in Azerbaijan. In this case men's football will also develop since it will be for them a great challenge", FIFA president said.

He noted announcing 2012 as 'A year of sport' shows that Azerbaijan really puts great emphasis on this important tournament. Not only football but other kinds of sport may also benefit from this decision, he said.
