Japan allocates grant to Georgia

Japan has allocated a 1.2-billion-yen grant to Georgia, which will be directed to buy agricultural equipment, the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture said.

An international tender will be held as part of the grant. The right to participate in the tender belongs to only those companies who have local agents in Georgia and that may have a warranty and post warranty service, or those producers who are able to perform on-site.

This statement was made by Crown Agents, which is appointed by the Georgia government as the authorized agent for procurement to conduct all tender procedures. The tender will be announced in the following products - combine harvesters, tractors of various capacities, and so on.

The agricultural ministry reported that a deadline is June 19, 2009. The tender will be announced on July 1, a deadline set for its closure on Aug. 12.
