Gross gold and foreign exchange reserves of Uzbekistan reached $ 28.774 billion as of Feb.1, 2018, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said in a message.
As of Jan. 1, 2018, the reserves of the Central Bank was $28, 076 billion, and for the same period in 2017 - $26, 428 billion.
Assets of Uzbekistan in foreign currency amounted to more than $14,775 billion as of Febr.1, 2018, compared to $ 14,042 billion as of Jan. 1, 2018.
Net gold and foreign currency reserves of the country increased reached $27, 250 billion compared to $ 26, 567 billion as of Jan. 1, 2018. These reserves do not include currency resources of commercial banks and state authorities (with the exception of Ministry of Finance and Reconstruction and Development Fund) on CBU accounts, which are financial obligations of CBU before the mentioned bodies.
Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves in 2017 increased by $1.4 billion, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said January. By the end of 2017, the net gold and foreign exchange reserves amounted to $26.6 billion.
For the first time the volume of gold and foreign currency reserves was officially announced in November 2017.
