Azerbaijan raises value of imports from Lithuania in 10M2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec.4

Imports of Lithuanian products to Azerbaijan grew in the first 10 months of 2020 from $13 million to $17.9 million on an annualized basis (by 37.4 percent), Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the SCC, Lithuania's share in Azerbaijan's total imports during the reporting period amounted to 0.1 percent, while a year earlier - 0.2 percent.

At the same time, exports from Azerbaijan to Lithuania amounted to $2 million, while a year-earlier - $1.3 billion. Thus, Lithuania's share in total exports of Azerbaijan equaled 0.01 percent.

The value of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania from January through October 2020 made up $19.9 million, which is almost 38.5 percent less than in 10M2019.

Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between the two countries for the reporting period, remaining negative, amounted to $15.9 million.

Meanwhile, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up over $21 billion, which is 25.7 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

Azerbaijan exports to Lithuania such goods as oil, equipment, processors, fruits and vegetables, construction materials (cement), and other goods.

Lithuania exports mainly foodstuffs, dairy products, equipment, construction materials (timber), and other goods to Azerbaijan.
