Investments in Georgian Poti Free Industrial Zone (FIZ) are diversified by regions countries, most of them coming from CIS countries and Europe, the Poti FIZ told Trend.
As for the US in particular, no specific investment has been made from that country, the FIZ noted,
"However, the companies registered in FIZ have close trade relations with the states in terms of import/export of raw materials and final product," the source said.
According to the Poti FIZ, it has close economic ties with the diplomatic missions of the United States and Georgia, which are reflected in the constant exchange of information and adoption of various recommendations on attracting investment.
Poti Free Industrial Zone certainly retains its advantages especially for trading companies due to its unique and strategic geographical location, the Poti FIZ said.
"Consequently, the majority of new companies registered in 2020 represent trading companies," the FIZ said.
As the source noted, in terms of distribution by sectors it is quite diversified, trading in food products, as well as construction materials, furniture, pharmaceuticals, cotton, and other agricultural products are intensively conducted.
