Turkmenistan plans to harvest 174,400 tons of vegetable and melon products, Trend reports referring to Turkmen media.
The mentioned issue was discussed during a meeting on the development of a shopping complex chaired by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
It was noted at the meeting that during the current year, private entrepreneurs plan to plant vegetable and melon products on 9,100 hectares of land and get 174,400 tons of crops, and on 13,200 hectares - fruit trees and grapes, collecting further 70,500 tons of harvest.
In addition, it is planned to grow 5,100 tons of oilseeds, including sowing 11,100 hectares with corn, and 13,900 hectares - with food seeds, to receive 51,500 tons and 15,800 tons of harvest, respectively.
It was also reported that at present, in greenhouses with a total area of 530.54 hectares, owned by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, it is planned to plant tomatoes on 500 hectares for 2021-2022 with an estimated harvest of 85,000 tons of this vegetable.
It is noted that a large number of grown products are planned to be exported.
