Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 May / Trend corr M. Aliyev/ The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will pay his first official visit to Finland, Helsinki-based Chancellery of Finnish President reported to Trend in a telephonic conversation on 27 May.
During the visit, from 28-30 May, President Aliyev will meet with President of Finland Tarja Halonen, will also visit the Finnish Parliament, as well as will deliver a lecture in the Paasikivi Society. On 30 May, Azerbaijani President will meet with Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen.
In September 2005, Ms Halonen paid her first visit to Azerbaijan. She has been the President of Finland since 2000.
Finland imports oil and gas and is interested in enhancement of energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. Finland is the world's leader in the nuclear field and at present world's largest nuclear power station is being constructed in the country.
