By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:
The Ministry of Energy and Industry of Kyrgyzstan proposes to allow the export of diesel fuel to Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the Kyrgyz media.
It is reported that the corresponding draft resolution has been submitted for public discussion.
According to the information, the reason for this decision is a significant inflow of oil products imported to Kyrgyzstan, caused by the increased economic activity of entities in the domestic consumer market. Supply already exceeds demand.
Against this background, locally produced diesel fuel does not compete, being inferior to imported analogs in quality and cost.
It is noted that a sharp decline in sales volumes led to an overflow of the tank farm. The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan fears that this will paralyze the process of processing crude oil and provoke a shutdown of oil refineries.
Earlier, Kyrgyzstan introduced a temporary ban on the export of oil and oil products outside the territory of the EAEU. However, now the Ministry of Energy and Industry is in favor of giving refineries permission to export diesel fuel to Uzbekistan.
