State owned Turkish telecommunication company put up for privatization

Shares of the state owned Turkish telecommunication company Turk Telekom has been put up for privatization, Turkish 'Resmi Gazete' newspaper reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, 6.68 percent of Turk Telekom's shares have been put up for privatization.

Earlier in December 2012 it was reported that privatization of the company is expected.

Turkey has recently pursued a policy of liberalization towards the country's domestic market. Several nuclear power plants, hydropower plants, and gas distribution networks were privatized. Privatization of two state banks is also on the agenda.
