ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 19. Sky Gates Airlines (a subsidiary of Red Wings Airlines) has commissioned an IL-96-400T long-haul aircraft that has undergone airworthiness restoration for freight delivery to Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

The liner performed the first commercial flight between Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) and Moscow (Russia), landing at 'Zhukovsky' airport with consumer items on board, according to Red Wings Airlines.

Currently, the company sees promising opportunities for the development of the freight transportation sector on domestic routes as well as in export-import operations with friendly countries.

Red Wings Airlines purchased Sky Gates Airlines in August of this year, and the airline had two Boeing 747s in its fleet before the sanctions were implemented; currently, the company will rely on Russian aircraft, including the repaired IL-96 and Tu-204/214.

Meanwhile, the IL-96-400T transport aircraft is a cargo version of the board from the family of Russian wide-body Il-96 aircraft, with a maximum commercial load weight of 92 tons.

The flight range at maximum load is 5,000 kilometers, with a load of 40 tons, the aircraft can fly 12,000 kilometers.
