BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) countries significantly increased from January through September 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the committee, the foreign trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan with the EAEU countries in the first 9 months of this year amounted to $3.2 billion, which is an increase of 30 percent over the same period in 2021.
During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan's imports from the EAEU countries increased by 25.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
"However, along with an increase in imports of certain goods, in 9 months of 2022 there was a decrease in the volume of imports of liquefied gas to Kyrgyzstan by 27.7 percent, electrical machinery and equipment - by 12.9 percent, coal - by 1.5 percent," the committee said.
Export of goods from Kyrgyzstan to the EAEU countries from January through September 2022 increased by 45 percent over the same period in 2021, due to an increase in the supply of processed stone by 10.3 times, footwear - by 10.2 times, leather products - by 5.2 times, equipment and mechanical devices - 4.6 times, clothing items - 3.3 times, etc.
Remarkably, the largest share of country's trade with the EAEU member states in the reporting period fell on Russia (70.1 percent) and Kazakhstan (27.6 percent).
