Germany’s Bosch, France’s Valeo and Iran’s Ezam Auto Parts Group have signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoU) to produce electric spare parts for automobiles, according to the information obtained by Trend.
Bosch will provide Ezam the technology and the production lines for the oxygen sensor, electric gas pedal and electric throttle sensors, as well as the ECU (electronic control unit), said in a document released by Ezam Group, Aug 19.
Valeo, on the other hand, will provide Ezam with the technology and the equipment for the production of ignition coils, ignitions and alternators.
The deals will enable Ezam to provide for the needs of 3 million cars per year, in terms of the mentioned spare parts.
Ezam Automotive Parts Group consists of 12 large manufacturing companies.
The Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) cemented €660 million deal with the French automaker Renault in early August.
Last year Robert Bosch had announced plans for opening its office in Tehran, due to the growing potential of Iran's car market and in view of the international sanctions lift.
There are about 1,200 local auto parts suppliers in Iran. Nonetheless, international carmakers say that their efforts aimed at launching new JVs were slowed by the obligation to produce 40 percent of the required car parts in the Islamic Republic, claiming that Iranians lack the capabilities of high quality spare parts production in the country.
