President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Chess Centre as part of his trip to the Gusar region.
The Head of State cut a red ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the facility.
The President viewed photo stands reflecting care and attention of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to development of sports in Azerbaijan.
The Head of State was informed that the two-storied Centre used to house the Nizami cinema. The reconstruction work started here in 2009.
The Centre has two training rooms and library. It can be a good venue for international and local tournaments. The facility was provided with 40 chess tables, of which 10 with electronic boards. Foreign language and computer courses will be organized here.

The Azerbaijani leader saw a video of his Gusar trips in 2008 and 2011 on the monitors installed in the foyer.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the reconstruction work, gave respective recommendations and instructions.
