Lithuanian PM to visit Georgia

Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius will visit Georgia on a working visit on April 29 - May 3. The Lithuanian Prime Minister will be accompanied by a representative government delegation, State Chancellery of Georgia told Trend on Saturday.

On April 30 Kubilius will meet with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Chairman of parliament David Bakradze, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.

Following a meeting with the Prime Minister the sides will sign a memorandum between the two governments to cooperate more closely.

The sides will also discuss at the meetings issues of bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation, as well as Lithuania's assistance to Georgia in the European integration processes.

On Monday, a delegation of the Lithuanian Prime Minister will also take part in the founding forum of Georgian and Lithuanian municipalities.

On May 1 Kubilius is expected to meet with representatives of the opposition Bidzina Ivanishvili and Irakli Alasania.

Later, the head of the Lithuanian government will participate in the unveiling of the monument to Antanas Vilkutaitis-Keturakis, and will meet with Lithuanian community of Georgia.

Kubilius will also visit Kutaisi and Batumi.

On Wednesday, a delegation led by Kubilius will meet with Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Georgia's Euro-Atlantic Integration Giorgi Baramidze. Kubilius will deliver a lecture at the Shota Rustaveli University in Batumi.

The delegation will return to Lithuania on May 3.
