BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. Azerbaijan has designated 9.9 million manat ($5.8 million) to the State Agency of Automobile Roads for the building of a railway line linking Sumgayit city to the town of Saray in the Absheron district, as well as a new bridge over the Samur-Absheron Canal, Trend reports.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed the relevant decree in this regard.
Under the decree, the sum of 9.9 million (nine million nine hundred sixty thousand) manat has been allocated from the reserve fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as stipulated in the state budget for 2024, to the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads for the construction of a railway line connecting the city of Sumgayit with the settlement of Saray in the Absheron district along Muhammad Asadov Street, as well as for the construction of a new 6-span, 100-meter bridge over the Samur-Absheron Canal.
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan is instructed to provide the funding specified in Part 1 of this decree. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan is tasked with resolving any issues arising from the implementation of this decree.
The decree will take effect immediately upon its signing.
