BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan with the CIS countries exceeded $1.028 billion while the share of these countries in Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to 36.38 percent in January through February 2022, Trend reports citing the bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with the CIS countries increased by 72.7 percent, or $433,116 on an annual basis. The share of these states in the overall import and export operations in Azerbaijan has grown by 6.15 percent up to 36.38 percent.

Moreover, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover rose by 80.46 percent, or $3.54 billion in January through February 2022 compared to the same period of 2021, from $4.39 billion to $7.9 billion.

Some $5.9 billion accounted for export in the structure of foreign trade turnover, up by $3.179 billion (114 percent) than in the same period of 2021. The share of export in foreign trade turnover totaled 75.16 percent against 63.36 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's imports increased by $360 million, or by 22.36 percent in January through February 2022 from $1.6 million to $1.9 million.

The share of import in foreign trade turnover reached 24.84 percent compared to 36.64 percent a year earlier.
