Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 August / Trend / Bank Standard, Azerbaijani largest private bank was granted a license from VISA International to render merchant acquiring services.
Merchant acquiring license by Visa International will enable bank to render more attractive and quantity service to its customers, as well as to increase the number of POS-terminals. Merchant acquiring service optimizes and cuts operation term and to transfer funds on accounts of trade and service companies (merchants). Bank's POS-terminals will accept plastic cards issued abroad.
At present, Bank Standard services about 300 large and mid-scale trade and service enterprises.
The license by VISA International will enable Bank Standard to get e-commerce license to serve local internet-shops.
Bank Standard has been the principal member of VISA since 2006. As for the first half of 2008, the number of VISA paid cards reach 51%.
