in January-March 2019, Azerbaijan imported 7,978 vehicles, which is 2.3 times higher as compared with the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the report, out of the total number of motor vehicles imported into the country, 7,250 are passenger cars and motor vehicles. This figure increased 2.3 times over the year.
During the reporting period, the country also imported 643 trucks (a twofold increase over the year), 44 buses and other motor vehicles accommodating 10 or more passengers (increase by 2.3 times over the year), and 41 special-purpose vehicles (increase by 3.1 times over the year).
The volume of imports of all types of vehicles and their spare parts amounted to $206.7 million, accounting for 6.59 percent of total imports of Azerbaijan.
In 2018, 28,876 vehicles and motor vehicles were imported.
