BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 20. Kazakhstan aims to carry out a large-scale restoration of energy facilities and heating networks of the country in 2023, as more than half of energy stations require maintenance, Bulat Aqchulaqov, Minister of Energy, said, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry.

The issue was discussed during the government meeting, where Aqchulaqov stated that 182 billion Kazakh tenge ($389.2 million) needs to be allocated to complete the reconstruction and modernization work of 98 boilers and 54 turbines.

According to the minister, the number of emergency shutdowns in 2021 increased by 5 percent compared to 2020.

Aqchulaqov also added that it is necessary to increase the marginal tariff for the service of maintaining the readiness of electric capacity from 590 thousand ($1,261) to 2 million Kazakh tenge ($4,277) per MW per month, followed by inflation indexing.
