Uzbekistan reveals volume of exported machinery, transportation equipment

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 1. Uzbekistan exported machinery and transportation equipment worth $248.5 million from January through March 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure is 4.5 percent less compared to the same period last year ($260.2 million in January–March 2023).

Motor vehicles (including hovercraft) accounted for the largest volume of exported machinery and transportation equipment from January through March 2024, reaching $100.6 million. Out of those, parts and accessories for automobiles amount to $76.6 million.

Electrical vehicles, apparatus, devices, and their electrical parts worth $48.7 million ranked second among exported machinery and transportation equipment, followed by machinery designed for specific industries ($32.5 million).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's ADM Jizzakh (automobile plant) has produced 36,000 vehicles of 23 types under the Kia, Chery, and Haval brands over the last three years.

Also, the enterprise can now produce 100,000 passenger cars per year.

Within the framework of the project on improving and expanding the production capability, $234 million was invested, and 1,800 jobs were created.
