A 600 gram sliced loaf is the most popular bread among the Uzbek population. Its cost has now increased by 9.1 per cent from 550 soums to 600 soums.
The previous increase in the price on this type of bread happened in September 2012. Then the price of a loaf increased by 10 per cent from 500 soums to 550 soums.
A 600 gram loaf is social and the most popular sort of bread. The prices on only this type of bread are regulated by the state. Prices on other sorts of bread are not regulated in Uzbekistan.
It was previously reported that the tariffs for central heating and hot water will be increased by 6.4 per cent and cold water supply by 3.5 per cent in Uzbekistan from October 1.
The official exchange rate is 2.140.95/$ 1 on Sept. 18.
