BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. The inauguration of newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has been held, Trend reports.

According to the information, the inauguration ceremony was held in the parliament building in Tehran.

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran's new president, will be inaugurated today at the Islamic Council meeting at 16:00 (GMT+4), Trend reports.

More than 70 foreign representatives and 600 local and foreign reporters are expected to attend the inauguration.

In the second round of the extraordinary presidential election in Iran, held on July 5, the representative of the reformist camp, Masoud Pezeshkian, won with almost 16.4 million votes. His rival, Saeed Jalili of the conservative camp, received 13.5 million votes.

To note, on May 19, a helicopter carrying former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Tabriz Province Imam Ayatollah Ali Hashim, and East Azerbaijan Province Governor-General Malek Rahmati crashed while flying from Khudafarin to Tabriz, and the Iranian President and the entire accompanying delegation were confirmed dead.
