Iranian agricultural ministry has announced that the country will temporarily import eggs due to the outbreak of H5N8 Bird Flu in the country.

However, the ministry has highlighted that its policy is to meet the market needs through the domestic production and the issue of imports is a temporary solution.

Through its recent statement, the ministry criticized media reports accusing the government of turning to imports instead of removing the shortcomings in production.

According to the latest weekly report by the Central Bank of Iran, the prices of eggs in the domestic market grew by 53.7 percent.
